How to stay cool on a hot summers’ day in England

This year in July and August 2022, the weather has at times been unprecedentedly hot with temperatures rising to over forty degrees centigrade!  The Great British population are not used to this type of extreme heat, and many are struggling to stay cool.  Drinking plenty of fresh cold water, staying out of the direct sun and wearing lightweight cotton clothing are just three ideas on how to cope with the hottest of summers days. Having a shower in lukewarm water or going for a swim in a pool or the sea if you are by the coast are also ways to enjoy the sunshine. Maybe you could splurge out on a small pool in your back garden, do your research and get some quotes before speaking to any Building Companies Bristol such as http://www.mogfordprescott.co.uk/builders-bristol ?

Having the daily use of your own pool while the weather continues to be HOT HOT HOT could be a real blessing and help the whole family to stay cool and have some fun together.  Make sure you all apply plenty of high factor sunscreen and when not in the pool enjoying the cool water you all wear hats and sunglasses. Once installed a pool in your garden could be something the whole family can enjoy and have fun in for many years to come.  Investing in a good quality air cooler so you can keep your internal home space cool is also a great idea.  If these types of investments are beyond your financial means, then try keeping all your doors and windows as wide open as possible to allow for any through draft.

If you do decide you want to go outside for some exercise or just to get out of the house, then choose a wooded area with plenty of shade from lots of tall trees. A forest could be the perfect place to spend the day in this hot weather, just strolling along the winding pathways under the protection of the heavily laden branches of the densely populated trees could be just the tonic you need to survive the incredible, relentless heat.  Take plenty of fresh water with you and make sure to stay hydrated at all times.  This weather won’t last forever and before you know it the rain will return, the wind and even snow will be back and life as we know it will return to normal.
