As we start to rapidly head towards March, we can finally say the worst of the winter weather is behind us. As the temperatures start to rise, now is the ideal time to start thinking about all of those jobs to get done in the garden ready for the warmer months.

If you want some home-grown fruit to enjoy, this is a great time to plant rhubarb ready for all those delicious crumbles later in the year! As well as fruit, you can start planting carrots and cabbages ready for the autumn harvest.


You can also plant a lot of flowers into the ground at this time of the year. Wildflower seeds are perfect for sowing now straight into the ground, and as well as giving you a beautiful display, the local wildlife will thank you for it too!

Now is also a great time to get any repairs done – fences that may have been battered by winter storms and garden furniture that needs a lick of paint – now is the time to do it and get it looking great ready for you to enjoy in the coming months.
